Warranty & Returns

Spy cameras cannot be returned or refunded once bought. CCTV systems carry one year from handover on the system as a whole.

This page covers two things: the warranty on CCTV systems Spy Eye supplies and installs, and the returns position on spy cameras, which is different and is set out first because it is the part people need to know before they order.

Nothing is sold on this website. There is no cart and no checkout: every order begins as an enquiry, is quoted against a brief, and is agreed in writing before anything is built or installed. “Bought” below means that agreed order, not a click.

Spy cameras are not returnable or refundable

Once a spy camera has been bought, it cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded — for any reason of preference, and at any point after purchase. Please read this before you place an order, and ask us anything you are unsure about while you still have the question.

The reason is what these are. A spy camera is built to your brief, inside a host object you choose, for a situation you have described to us. It is not a catalogue item taken off a shelf: by the time it reaches you it has been made for you, and it cannot be put back on any shelf afterwards. A concealed recording device that has left our hands also cannot be verified as unused, and we will not put such a unit in front of another customer.

So, concretely:

  • No return, exchange or refund because the object is not what you pictured, because the situation changed, or because you no longer need it.
  • No refund of an advance or deposit once we have begun building against it.
  • No partial refund, credit note or buy-back.

What we do instead is the part that costs us more and serves you better: we spend the time before the order getting it right. Tell us what you need watched and where, and we will tell you plainly what will work, what will not, and what we would build. If we think a concealed camera is the wrong answer for your situation, we say so before you have paid for one.

This is about changing your mind, not about faulty goods. If a unit does not work as it was described to you when we hand it over, that is our problem and we deal with it — by repair or replacement, on the terms stated in your quotation. It is not settled by a refund. Nothing on this page affects any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, which we could not remove by writing a policy and do not attempt to.

CCTV systems: warranty

The rest of this page is the warranty on a CCTV installation. It begins when that installation is handed over to you.

What is covered

One year from the date of handover, on the system as a whole. Not on one box in it. A CCTV installation is cameras, a recorder, storage, power supplies, cabling and the configuration that makes those work together, and all of it is covered for the same twelve months.

Within that year, if any part of the system we installed stops doing what it was handed over doing, we attend and put it right — repair or replacement, labour included, at no charge.

What is not covered

  • Physical damage, breakage, burning, or water reaching a part not rated for it.
  • Tampering, mishandling, or repositioning, rewiring or reconfiguring by anyone other than us.
  • Damage from electrical surge, lightning, or an unstable or incorrectly earthed supply.
  • Theft, fire, flood, storm, riot, or any other event outside our control.
  • Equipment we did not supply, and damage caused to our work by equipment or building work carried out by others.
  • Consumables, and the gradual loss of capacity that hard drives and backup batteries have by design.
  • Changes made by a manufacturer to their own mobile app or cloud service.
  • Anything arising from the system being used for a purpose it was not designed and quoted for.

Where a fault falls outside this warranty we will still attend and repair it. Parts and labour are then chargeable, quoted before any work begins.

Manufacturer warranty

Individual components carry their own warranty from the manufacturer, and on some equipment that period is longer than a year. Where it is, you get the longer of the two. You do not need to know which is which or deal with the manufacturer — raise it with us and we handle the claim.

How to raise a fault

Call +91 70036 98401 or use the contact form. Tell us the site and what has stopped working. Many faults are settled on the phone; where they are not, we attend the site.

Keep your handover documentation. It records the date the warranty starts and what was installed, which is what we work from.

After the first year

An annual maintenance contract continues the same cover and adds the preventive work that stops most faults happening: lenses cleaned, angles re-checked, recordings verified, and disks replaced before they fail rather than after. Ask us for terms.

Custom and non-standard installations

Custom work (custom housings, solar and 4G installations, and anything built for a site that a catalogue system does not fit) is covered on the same twelve-month basis unless the quotation says otherwise. Where a site imposes conditions that change what we can reasonably warrant, that is stated in the quotation before you accept it, never afterwards.
